Believing Love Never Fails – Part 16
June 27, 2012 in Doers TV Christian Blog with 3 Comments
In our last post, we started to address and teach on the promises of God and how important it is to believe them. We introduced the “Love Never Fails” promise of God so be sure to drop by and review that, if you haven’t read it yet.
1 Corinthians 13:8 (KJV) says, “Charity (Love) never faileth…”
Believing the Love Never Fails promise is so important. We said in this Christian teaching series “It’s Time to Believe”, that true believing causes you to act or do something, and not believing causes you not to act or do something.
So in order to show love, it is imperative that we believe this promise of God.
Its really amazing that many times we really do not know what we do not believe, until we examine our motives and actions. Love is not lip service, its an action. And we can determine if we truly love, by what we do or don’t do.
It’s so easy to love in the good times. It’s so easy to love a person when they are nice, kind, and perfect to you. But what about “demonstrating” love to people when they are hateful, mean, and nasty to you?
In John 15:12 (KJV), Jesus said; “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.”
It’s not easy to love like God without His love in our hearts. (Romans 5:5)
I hear people say all the time “I love God” but turn right around and lie, steal, commit adultery and fornication, and all other types of sins.
Jesus said you do not love me, if you do not keep my commandments. Period! Love is not words with Jesus, not a “feeling” with Jesus, and not an “intention with Jesus. Love is an action, the right one.
Imagine, for a moment, a parent who does not feed their child, physically abuses their child, spends no time with their child, etc… and than insists that they love their child. That is non-sense.
Our actions determine if we truly love. Jesus said ” If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15 KJV) And again, our actions reveals to us what we really and truly believe.
Unfortunately, many Christian do not believe that Love Never Fails. For example; the reason we run to divorce courts is because we don’t really believe the promise of God that love never fails. The reason we so easily give up on people, is because we really do not believe love never fails.
Not showing and believing that love never ever fails, leads to so many things that God never planned or intended to happen in our lives.
If we really believed that love never fails, we would be loving like love never fails.
Love isn’t tested until you love the person who doesn’t love you. If you are waiting for someone to love you, before you love them, that is not the love standard of God.
1 John 1:19 says; “We love him because He FIRST loved us. God loved us when we didn’t love Him. That is the standard of God – loving others whither or not they love you back.
The reason Jesus went to the cross is because:
1. He believed Love would not fail
2. He knew God is Love
3. Whenever you truly believe something it will cause you to do something
Love is an action – not a feeling. Lust is a feeling and not love. Love is a decision.
On a side bar remember this: You will never live by faith, waiting for a feeling. And faith works by love (Galatians 5:6).
I hate to stop here but I have to….I have to go and give some love away…because love isn’t love until you give it away.
Remember, believing love never fails, is the key to using love, to never fail.
Please join us next time as we continue in this Christian teaching series “It’s Time To Believe. ‘
We still have a few more lessons on the promise of God – “Love Never Fails”
