Doers of the Word Are Believers of the Word – Part 5

In our series “It’s Time To Believe” now we are going to teach on why it is so important to truly believe in God’s Word.
James 1:22 “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” The most important part about being a Doers of the Word is to, first and foremost, be a Believer of the Word.
Doers of the Word – Believe the Word. When you truly believe something, you do or at least try to do, what you believe. If you never believe you can win a race, you will either not enter the race or you will not give it your best effort to win the race, because you do not believe you can win it.
Most Christians are “Knowers” of the Word, but not “Doers” of the Word, because when the test and trails of life come our way, we don’t believe the Word.
Here is the danger with not believing the Promises or Word of God (other than not pleasing God – Hebrews 11:6): If we do not believe the promises of God will work, manifest, or come to pass for our benefit – we normally will not do what is required by God in order to receive the manifestation of God’s promises found in the Holy Bible.
Believing God’s Word helps us to obey God’s Word. Believing ignites obedience.
Doubt and unbelief causes us not to be Doers of the Word. Unbelief causes disobedience, because its hard to do the work required for the reward, when you don’t believe you are going to receive the reward any way.
If you don’t believe you can stop having sex before marriage (fornication), you won’t.
If you don’t believe you can be faithful to your spouse, you won’t.
If you don’t believe you can stop smoking and drinking, you won’t.
If you don’t believe Jesus can save you from your sins, He won’t . (Romans 10:9 teaches us believing is a requirement to getting saved.)
We do not invest our time and energy in things we believe will not work or benefit us. Some of us are lazy, not because we are tired, but because we simply do not believe.
Many of us never give a 100% effort in being the very best we can be, because we don’t believe we can be the very best.
Remember, Doers of the Word are Christians who Believe the Word. Are you a Doer of the Word?
Please give us your feedback on being a Doer and a Believer and comment now. God bless you.
