We have been teaching on It’s Time To Believe – The Promise of God – Love Never Fails for the last several posts and we will continue because this is a life or death teaching series. Please review the last few Christian teachings if you have not already done so.
In our last post I promised to teach on How To Apply God’s never failing love.
How do we apply the Love of God to eliminate or to keep us from failing in ALL areas of our life? It’s all about applying the Attributes of God’s Love.
You can’t miss the next several teachings because it will take more than one to teach us how to do this.
Over the next several teachings we will learn how to apply the attributes of God’s love found in verses 4-7 of 1st Corinthians chapter 13 to the following areas of our lives to eliminate or prevent the following failures in our:
* And every area of our lives.
Here is what 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 says;
4 “Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
5 It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].
6 It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].
8 Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth].”
The key to never failing, is not found in God’s Love for us ,but instead our love for Him.
Please go and get your Bible. Seriously, I will wait. Do you have it? Great. You really need to see this for yourself.
Now that you have your Bible (you do have your Bible, right?) please turn to Romans 8:28-29 and read it all. None of these things mentioned in verses 35 through 39 separate God’s love for us, BUT many of these things do separate our love for God, for some of us reading this today.
Many church pastors, preachers, and teachers of today have made a great mistake by only teaching and emphasizing God’s love for us and not teaching on how important it is for us to love God.
Its our Love for God that keeps us from failing, not His Love for us. Think about this statement for a moment. God dearly loves every single person, those who consistently fail and those who consistently succeed.
Now for the people who continue to fail did God loving them keep them from failing? No.
God’s Love Never Fails, but we do fail to use His love the correct way to keep from failing.
It’s not that God’s love failed us – it’s that we failed to use God’s love the right way.
You have to believe this principle.
I pray that you are getting this. But hey, we have a few more lessons on Love Never Fails in this teaching series “It’s Time To Believe.”
So come back and before you leave please give us your thoughts by leaving a comment.
God bless you.
Love, Pastor David.
