Love Never Fails Promise of God Believe It – Part 15
June 27, 2012 in Doers TV Christian Blog with 0 Comments
Love Never Fails is one of, if not, the most powerful promise of God.
The Holy Bible teaches us that “God is Love” (1 John 4:8,16). And that is why love never fails – because God can not fail.
The problem isn’t Love failing, but people failing to love.
We must know and believe that Love truly does not fail, and apply it to our lives.
However, every promise of God is just an empty promise, when we do not believe it. Every promise of God means nothing to us, if we don’t believe it, including the promise that Love never fails.
As we continue the Christian teaching series “It’s Time To Believe” now we are going to shift our attention and focus to how believing activates the various promises of God, found in The Holy Bible, or what we believe as Christians to be the Word of God.
We are going to teach on several specific promises of God over the next several weeks. Than we are going to show how believing ignites these promises and how unbelief and doubt cancels out these promises in our lives. OK? Awesome!
It’s really time to believe that Love Never Fails. 1 Corinthians 13:8 (KJV) says; “Charity (Love) never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.”
Many of us are having a problem loving, according to God’s standards.
I most admit, it is not easy loving according to the standards of God. The following passage of scriptures below will confirm this:
Matthew 5:43-48 (KJV) “Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
Wow! This is a tall order to fill . But wait God’s standard of Love gets even more demanding:
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 (AMP) “Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth].”
Now mediate on these two passages of scriptures and compare what God’s standard of love is, to what the world’s standard of love is. Hollywood’s version of love is not like God’s.
Trying to love according to God’s Standards sometime feels like we have love in a cage.
So prayerfully you are starting to get a revelation that the “Love Never Fails” promise of God is humanly impossible to fulfill. But the Good News, if you are a Born-Again Spirit Believer in Christ; is the “… love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” (Romans 5:5).
So we have the Love of God in us, to love according to His standards. We just need to get it out of the cage.
I heard a psalmist once say “love isn’t love until you give it away.”
But again, we must believe this in order to fulfill this promise of God.
